Like you, we discovered Givebutter and fell in love. The campaigns, the widgets, the donor experience — it's genuinely one of the best fundraising platforms out there for nonprofits.
But there was one thing we couldn't do: connect our GivingHub to our own domain.
That mattered more than we initially realized. Donors were hesitant to give on a URL they didn't recognize. More importantly, we discovered that the Google Ad Grants program — which gives nonprofits up to $10,000/month in free advertising — requires your own domain. We were leaving $120,000 a year on the table.
We asked Givebutter. We searched the forums. We opened support tickets. For 3 years, this was one of the most requested features — and it still hasn't been built.
So we built it ourselves.
Givebutter still runs everything behind the scenes — campaigns, donors, donations. We just gave it a front door with our name on it. Our website, our domain, and donors never have to leave to give.
